Unit 2 evaluation.
At the start of unit 2 i decided to choose, which one of the project i wanted to do for unit 2 and i chose to do reflections. After i have finished picking which one i wanted to do i decided to write why i chose reflections and what it means to me and what i said or stated is that reflections is not about taking pictures on shiny surfaces but reflections is about knowing about the other side of things and reflections can be pattern based which means it can symmetrical and opposite sides.
After i finished writing about reflections and why i chose it the next thing i decided to do is research different artist whose work is about reflections or contain reflections, so i decided to choose 3 artist whose work is based on reflections. The first artist i chose name is Lee friedlander and his type of reflections is based on shadows which he find on the ground or anything which has a visible shadow, after i finished researching about him i decided to take photographs of shadows i see. The next artist i researched about is called Tom Hussey and his art of work is quite intriguing because his reflections is based on past reflections which is basically any surface which is shiny and basically put up a pictures of when they was young on it but it was like when the person is looking in the mirror they see their past self which is a good type of reflection. the last artist i researched was called Ernst Haas his reflections was based on urban setting and city landscape which is pretty much taking pictures of reflections of houses on windows or going to the park and taking pictures of reflections of your surrondings on the lake.
So when i finished researching my three artists i decided to make a mind map about reflections and i wrote down all my ideas which came up to my mind and i included things such as e.g reflections from shiny surfaces, photo-shop reflections, reflections of living things, and symmetrical reflections which goes in a pattern. so after i made my mind map i decided to go and take my first set of reflections which was mostly light, shadows, and shiny surfaces but it contains other types of reflections. when i was taking my first set i decided to carry the mirror because it is easier to get reflections from it, after using the mirrors i decided to go take more pictures but without using mirrors but finding and looking for reflections outside and in different buildings. so when i finished taking my final pictures i decided to evaluate one of the picture and what went well and even better if, so i wrote what went well first and afterwards i wrote even better if and i wrote what i could have done to improve.
After i finished evaluating i decided to get pictures from the internet and started using photoshop to try out different techniques, so when i started using photoshop to edit some of the pictures i found on the internet, i decided to use my own pictures for photoshop and i used one picture but three layers with different contrast and different colour and afterwards i decided to put all of it together and made it translucent so that you can see all of colours and the layers. and the other types of techniques as well as reflections i did on photoshop is by getting a reflected pictures of birds and i decided to make half of it any colour and decided to make the other half the opposite colour so not only the image is reflected but the colours are. After i finished my photoshop reflection set i decided to pick one of the pictures and evaluate what went well and even better if. so when i pick one of the pictures i started evaluating and talking about what went well and even better if and start talking about what i could have done to make my image better.
when i finished i decided to mention good reflection apps you can find on mobile devices and i started talking about why the apps is good for it use for example layout and reflections. after i finished writing about it i decided to make a mobile photography reflection set which is basically reflections going in a pattern or it is symmetrical. the app i used for that was layout, reflection, and google snapseed. After i finished the mobile photography reflection set i decided to evaluate one of the pictures and talked about what was good and what went bad. After evaluating i decide to do my final outcome image by using photoshop which took a very long time because i had to rotate the image to 90 degrees and copy and paste it to a blank page and i had to crop it so that all of it fit together and then i changed the colour of the background into grey and i decided to evaluate it and talked about what i liked about it and what i could have done to the image to make it better and afterwards i printed it out in A3 landscape and i mounted it to a card.
